Unfortunately, the default setting is what I’d like to “set and forget” since that is the obvious place for the developed images to go. Since SoftRAID is very common software and causes no difficulty with LR + other DXO products, or any other plugins I have, I have to suspect that there is something amiss with the coding that is overriding once I change the default folder. Neither of my MacBook Pros have attached RAID arrays and don’t run SoftRAID. The common factor between the two iMacs that are experiencing this issue is that both run SoftRAID 6.2.1 as the driver for the OWC Raid Arrays where I store my images for editing. It isn’t a permissions issue, but there is definitely something that is coded wrongly for macOS 12.3. For reasons entirely unclear to me, if you define a custom folder for the image instead of using the default folder, it returns the DNG without issue. The default return folder is a subfolder under the original folder. I’ve been working this problem all morning and I have finally identified the “issue” of respawning instances of LR when returning the DNG. It is almost like the Plug In Extra piece (the front end) is working fine, but the. So clearly, something isn’t behaving exactly right. Upon completion, it ONCE AGAIN tried to launch a second instance of LR, which failed because the catalog was already open, QUIT instance 2, which spawned Instance 3, again failing, and then giving up, but eventually returning the NEF as a DNG file with the DXOPR2 edit indicator. It launched PR2, gave me the choice of Noise Reduction methods, and processed the image. After dismissing the message, I found an image I wanted to use PR2 with, opened the image through LR “Plug In Extras” | Process in PR2 and away it went. Upon opening I was presented with the message that PR2 was now available and gave the simple instruction on how to use it. ![]() I then launched LR Classic CC version 11.2. ![]() I installed the fresh copy, made sure everything was in the right place. I then downloaded a fresh copy from the DXO site. Apple silicon (M1) Macs require macOS 11.3 or later.Just to be double-dog sure, I completely uninstalled PR2. SoftRAID 6.2 for Mac is compatible with macOS 10.12 or later including macOS 12. SoftRAID 6.2 is a free upgrade for current SoftRAID 6 users and discounted upgrades are available at the OWC Software Store for SoftRAID 5 users. The new mechanism is 3x faster than before.
